Dates Set for Private &Wireless Broadband Show

I am happy to announce that we have selected September 25-27 as the dates of the 18th annual Private & Wireless Broadband Show. We are returning to Dallas, TX this year with the Hyatt Regency serving as our host venue.

For 17 years the Private & Wireless show has been the place where operators, providers, developers, schools, hotels and others involved in the multihousing industry have met to learn how to enhance their product and grow their business. Now with our new focus on broadband, we will be able to introduce to our audience perhaps the greatest vertical market many of us will ever see in our lifetime.

Converging technologies take center stage

I am very excited about the convergence aspect of this year's show. When I look at our industry, I see private operators providing cable and broadband services to MDUs and commercial buildings using a wide variety of technologies. Private cable operators and providers currently use cable, DSL, wireless, fiber and satellite technologies to deliver access and a variety of services.

The convergence of these technologies represents the future of multihousing where no one technology will service the entire industry. Rather the type, or types, of technology used to service a building will depend on location, number of units, types of enhanced services needed and many other factors which cater to the strengths and weaknesses of each particular technology.

At this year's Private & Wireless Broadband Show, you will be able to see and learn about all of these technologies so that when the time comes to deliver broadband service to your customers you can choose the best technology for the best situation.

Professional Show Company to co-produce P&W Show

We have contracted Shorecliff Commuications to co-produce the Private & Wireless Show with us. Shorecliff is one of the nations leading event producers with annual events covering wireless, broadband, multihousing, and much more making them our ideal partner in producing the Private & Wireless Broadband Show. As an added bonus, Shorecliff has agreed to co-locate their Rural Wireless show with us so operators serving rural markets can learn about the many wireless solutions to reach their customers.

Timothy Downs, whose name you have seen on numerous bylines in this magazine, is Executive Vice President of Shorecliff Communications and will be Conference Director of the show. Tim has prepared a brief overview outlining a little of what you can expect at this year's show on page 48. Much more information will be available in forthcoming issues and online at www.privatebroadband.com.

This year's show is shaping up to be the most exciting show in the 17 year history of the event. We look forward to seeing you all in Dallas in September.
