EDITORIAL: The Broadband Properties Era
By Robert L. Vogelsang
With the New Year comes a big change for Private & Wireless Broadband magazine. This issue is in fact, the last issue of Private & Wireless Broadband. In January of 2002, Private & Wireless Broadband will be formerly renamed Broadband Properties magazine to better reflect our readership and market direction.
While we enjoyed nearly 20 years under the Private & Wireless masthead, we felt the time had come to make a significant change to not only help with our own branding and image, but to give the industry an easily identifiable flag that they can point to and rally around.
What to expect in Broadband Properties
Current and future advertisers, who are the lifeblood of our publication, can expect an even better value for their marketing dollars with the launch of Broadband Properties. We will be increasing our readership exponentially along the same lines as our current subscribers base - which is 35% system operator and 32% property owner. Of which 47% are either owners or officers of their respective companies. Our two-tiered customer base will continue to represents the most unique advertising opportunity available to companies seeking direct reach to operators and multifamily or commercial real estate owners.
We will continue to expand upon our multi-disciplinary approach to content in keeping pace with cutting edge changes in the digital video and broadband data industries as the relate to MDU and MTU properties. This approach also allows this publication to remain well positioned in new, rapid growth markets of streaming media, interactive television, telephony, Smart Home/Office and IP networking.
In Closing
With the change to Broadband Properties, I wanted to assure our long time readers
and long time supports that this does not signify that we are not abandoning
any markets but merely creating a better forum to welcome others into our market.
It is my belief that with this new direction we are better able to create a
melting pot of technology and properties that will form the foundation for a
strong and vibrant industry that we can all be very proud of in the years to
come.
