Broadband
Properties Summit Scheduled for October 1 & 2
By RL Vogelsang
I thought
I would focus my column this month on letting everyone know about
the Broadband Properties Summit, which was previously know as
the Private & Wireless Broadband Show. I know a lot of industry
folks have make this show a priority for close to 20 years now
and I wanted to share with them, and everyone else, what we have
planned under the new name and expanded direction.
Basically,
we decided to expand the event to include more content, exhibits
and materials of interest to the property owners and developers,
who have been coming to the event for years just to learn about
technologies such as cable and broadband. We believe that with
each passing year, the line between the service provider and property
owner continues to blur and that the driving force in this market
is technology. In respect of this, we expanded the Private &
Wireless Broadband Show to the Broadband Properties Summit, so
that we are better able to bring both the service providers and
the property owners under one roof, while addressing the increasing
role technology plays on properties.
Where Real
Estate Meets Technology
The theme
of this year's event is Where Real Estate Meets Technology and
to that end we have some exciting stuff planned. Large service
providers such as Time Warner, Comcast and Verizon will be presenting
alongside PCOs and alternative providers such as MediaWorks, Noment
and WSNet. We have speakers from property companies such as JPI,
Forrest City Residential and many others. For technologies, we
will have an extensive look into traditional areas such as cable
and Internet and, for the first time, presentations on alternate
technologies such smart buildings and networking as well as an
entire session devoted to the role wireless technologies play
on properties.
It is our
goal to provide both the service provider and property owner with
two days of a well-rounded, highly educational experience where
they can see and learn about the technologies that will be shaping
the MDU/MTU industry in the present and future.
The latest
information concerning the Broadband Properties Summit as well
as registration information can be found online at www.broadbandproperties.com.
I sincerely hope you can all join us in Denver.
