Tim leads the IPTV and Multi-Play product and partnership initiatives for the Converged IP Communications division of Comverse Americas in the IPTV and Telco TV markets. Previously, Tim founded and ran several start-up companies including Xalted Networks, Force Communications and Global Broadcasting Corporation. These companies focused in the areas of: switching; routing; multiplexing; storage; user interfaces; network management; core, edge and access Network Elements; and services for a complete Triple Play solution-set for: Wireline Telecom's; Broadcasters; and HDTV Digital Cinema for: Movie Studios; Theaters; and Hollywood Post Production Houses. 

Earlier, Tim was AVP of Switching Sales, Business Development and RBOC Carrier Programs with Alcatel North America, VP Corporate Marketing and Business Development with DSC and Sales for ADC.  Tim has over 27 years of experience in telecom and broadcasting - with over 14 years in executive leadership positions. His notable accomplishments include many "firsts" while creating products, solutions and new service offerings for TelCo's and Broadcasters:

  • 100 Mbps per home Broadband Loop Exchange/Carrier Access system via quad OC-48 network processors and access rings for RBOCs and Wireline Telecom's for Triple Play services, supporting 5 HDTV's per home in the early-2000's while at Xalted Networks.
  • Provided technical consulting and services to leading US TV Stations in their migration to HDTV / DTV (ATSC Digital TV) free Over-The-Air broadcasting in major markets.  Broadcasted major sporting events and special events to audiences through out the US so consumers could see HDTV for the very 1st time in the late-1990's while at Global Broadcasting.
  • Digital Cinema distribution system - now a new SMPTE standard based upon Alcatel's and later Global Broadcasting's creation of the network architecture and products in the mid-1990's.
  • ATM based ADSL Multiplexer program launch into the US for RBOC's video access networks for Telco TV, latter leading to worldwide adoption of ATM based DSLAM's for Internet Access while at Alcatel in the Mid-1990's.
  • 1st switched RBOC Residential TelCo TV and VoD architecture and Electronic Cinema (HDTV) solution via the creation of Alcatel's Switched Digital Video Networks (SDVN) product solution in the mid-1990's.
  • Network Attached Storage for new Telecom based content services as part of the SDVN program while at Alcatel in the mid-1990's.
  • SS7 controlled and Switched-Digital Cross-connect Systems (S-DCS) for Bell Atlantic's Virginia VoD trial, MCI's backbone provisioning system and advanced High-Speed TelCo data services ahead of SMDS, BISDN, Frame Relay, ATM and Ethernet/IP while at DSC in the early-1990's.
  • DCS 3/1, DCS 3/3 and integrated Multi-Rate DCS Network Elements for RBOCs and Phone Companies while at DSC in the late-1980's to early-1990's.
